With the support of partners, this project, besides being a profit making business, carries out a local development program by promoting project integration in the area: job creation and training in rural areas, development of local tourism and environment.

In partnership with the rural community of Sindia, the French association “Volontaires du progrès”, CIEPAC (not a full list), with Accrobaobab taken the responsibility to develop the following areas:

• A local tourism development project involving surrounding villages of TIAFFOURA and SOKHOKHASSAB.
• a training plan for local facilitators
• a training plan for the field manager of Accrobaobab.
• A project for the conservation and reforestation of the baobab forest in partnership with local communities, institutions, associations and the private sector.
• a cultural space with a permanent exhibition on tree traditional climbing, the various usages of baobab: food, medicinal, mystical and practical, the baobab tree and its extravagance and incredible figures

Accrobaobab and local development: concrete goals

Your participation helps sustain our local and sustainable development actions:

• school material box: school items (50 student tables, 80 school chairs) as well as 3m3 of school graph paper imported and donated to the school of Tiaffoura, now having 2 new classes. Regular provision of small school supplies through exchanges with schools in France: notebook pens, pencils...
• School canteen equipment: dishes and kitchen utensils
• Wells: construction of gantry and equipment of pulleys, rope for Tiaffoura villages, pointe st George (Casamance)
• Certified training with an authorization number. Training of Accrobaobab staff and organizing internship for 4 people from the villages of Tiaffoura and Sorokh Khassap two of which have joined Accrobaobab. It was a 15 day training facilitated by a graduate and certified agency instructor ’ reflexes and prevention " from France
• Sports equipment for the football team of Tiaffoura and Sorokh khassap. Regular supply of medals and trophies
• Participation in the construction of Tiaffoura mosque
• Organization of sports activities by schools of Tiaffoura, khassap and kiniabour and gift of 200 tee shirts of different colors and flocked.
• Regular supply of clothes and shoes through the implementation of a recovery network from Dakar donors. In this regard, your donations are welcome.
• Agriculture: for 2 years, Accrobaobab devotes a portion of its land, and finances seeds, fertilizers, produce phyto and labor to allow the cultivation of groundnuts during the rainy season. The seeds from the yield will be allocated to workers of Accrobaobab; same with a vegetable garden and an orchard.
• Job creation and capacity-building: Today Accrobaobab has 8 permanent jobs and 2 service providers;
• Also besides its wonderful development activities, Accrobaobab generates income for craftsmen, workers, traders, tour guides, antiques, farmers.... In addition, it also contributes to training by opening opportunities for work supervised by specialists / (masonry, electrical plumbing, carpentry, gardening...);
